Legal Question in Criminal Law in Oklahoma

I was arrested in Oklahoma for P.I. Taken to jail and kept for 4 hours. I paid the bail of $250 and was given a municipal court date. My employer has me on 3 day suspension with their own investigation about my arrest. The officer said that since I had paid the bail, fine whatever you want to call it, I would not have to show up in court as I had already paid. I am unsure on his comments about this. I am worried that I will be terminated from my teaching job. My questions are: should I go to court and plead no-contest; and also if terminated from my job, should I withdrawn my retirement money as I will be broke until and if I can find another job. Please help.

In some jurisdictions the money you put up for bond can be forfeited to pay the fine. However, I would not trust what some cop told you, and I would show up for court. If it is important for you to keep this off your record, you should hire an attorney to show up to court with you.
