Legal Question in Criminal Law in Oklahoma
Felon In Possession of Gun!!
My son needs to know what to do!His father was arrested and put in jail on a suspected drug charge but those charges were dropped.
Mean while the girlfriend ,he was living with brought up the fact, that there was some guns involved that were suppose to belong to my sons' father.
The guns were in my sons storage building and not in his fathers possession at the time he was arrested.
My sons, father does have a felony, that he served time for in Arizona and he was released on that charge in 1990.Even though Oklahoma dropped the original charges, they now have filed charges and they are holding him on charges of a felon in possession of a fire arms.
He wants my son to bring the receipt of the storage building to show that the storage building is rented in my sons name but my son is afraid to do so because he doesnt want to get into trouble. From what I read online the guns are legal.
Can you please help me with an answer?

Re: Felon In Possession of Gun!!
You have not said anything about the son having a felony. If that is true, then what trouble will he get into by bailing Dad out. If what you say is true, then Dad is going to the pen for sure.
There is an ad on TV right now where Johnny Cochran tells all the things you can get out of and then he says if you are a felon in possession, not even he can save you from time.
