Re: My Marijuana smoking step son

There is a procedure that your court clerk can tell you about called "forcible entry and detainer". This procedure is used to evict persons who have arguably lost their legal right to remain on a premises. This seems a bit drastic, but if your step-son is 18 or over, it will get him out. I would suggest strongly that you cite his illegal marijuana use in the Petition. Also, I would suggest that you put any further requests to police for help in writing -- this protects you later on. If your step-son is a minor, contact the juvenile authorities (in writing, by hand-delivering a letter to their office and stand there until somebody comes out to talk to you). copy your letter and make sure that they keep theirs and that they somehow mark on your copy that they recieved one exactly like it. You may email me directly in the future if you need more counsel in this area. One more thing -- Is his father living at the same house as well?
