Legal Question in Criminal Law in Oklahoma
I am a Registered Nurse that was wrongly accused, unlawfully detained, searched, falsely arrested, and maliciously prosecuted for shoplifting @ Wal-Mart! Even after they admitted to have identified me as someone else by mistake & confirmed that I hadn't concealed any merchadise, the Loss Prevention employee proceeded to place me under "Citizen's Arrest"? I have suffered total humilation, defamation of character, and now slander as the arrest has appeared in our local newspaper. I'm confident that I will have no problem having the charges dismissed at court, but the damage has been done! Is it possible to file a lawsuit against Wal-Mart &/or the LP dept for such outrageous treatment?
