Legal Question in Criminal Law in Oklahoma
Sentencing 3 people for 1 crime
A guy was convicted to Life W/O parole for murder. He is innocent. 2 other boys were involved they were forced into turning states evidence.
My question is the 2 boys were givin lesser sentences. One got 28 years the other got 28 years.
Don't they have to be given same punishments? Both boys were threatened into saying the 3rd did it even though he had an alaby he was still convicted.
They 2 boys were sentenced with robery with a deadly weapon. Is this fair?
Also one more question. The main detective on the case had personal problems with the boy who got life. He's problems go back to school days when the one boy use to beat up his son. There has been many years of harrassment by this detective.
Should he have been allowed to work on this case?
Please let me know. His appeal is coming up in Jan. And he needs to come home.

Unfortunately you are learning how corrupt the criminal justice system is. He will probably have to appeal to the feds before he will have a chance and even then his chances are not good.
