Legal Question in Criminal Law in Oklahoma
How can my son get an item off his criminal record that was dismissed?
my son took a ride with a young man in a car that turned out to be stolen. he was arrested for knowingly possessing stolen property-vehicle (felony) but the charges were dropped when the other young man admitted my son did not know it was stolen.
Since that time, my son has had trouble getting a decent job because that offense still shows up on public court records. how can he get that removed from the records to clear his name?

Re: How can my son get an item off his criminal record that was dismissed?
Your son needs to go back to the court where the case was originally filed and apply for an expungement. If the expungement is granted by the court all documents in the case will be sealed and closed to the public.
