Legal Question in Education Law in Oklahoma
dangerous weapons at school
my son was in class put 2 balloons up his shirt a teacher popped them, then another teacher says let me see if i can pop them & took out a pocket knife & popped them while they were in his shirt, so then my son took out a knife & popped one.The teacher says let me see that, then says do you know that you cant have that he said no & the teacher says I have to report this. Then he is to be suspended the first 2 weeks of next year work at the school the month of July & cant receive his 8th grade diploma by walking across the stage he can pick up diploma day after graduation. My question is what if any gives this teacher the right to do this & him to just have been given a verbal warning. Isn't that child endangerment?

Re: dangerous weapons at school
I believe you may have a serious case of violation of your sons civil rights. If the teacher took out a pocket knife and used it to puncture a ballon on your son, that could be considered to be assault with a deadly weapon.
You should consult a local attorney to determine whether to press charges.
