The best course of action is for you to contact State of Oklahoma DEpartmet of Human Services - Elder Care Division and find out exactly what their current rules are.
The general rule of thumb in requesting medicaid (DHS) assistance to pay for the nuring care of your mother is as follows: Your mother may transfer her asets to whomever she wishes. However, if she (or some famiily member on her behalf) is asking DHS to pay her nursing home bills, then DHS has the right to require your mother (or her guardian or representative) to come up with the payments for the nursing home until the assets are depeleted. Your mother's assets inlcudes value of her house.
