Legal Question in Family Law in Oklahoma
Nearly 14 after my divorce, I received a Notice and Finding for child support
Nearly 14 after my divorce, I received a Notice and Finding for child support. My ex lives in Oklahoma and apparently has worked through her state offices to contact my local DA. I received a letter from the DA's Family Support Division informing me of the Notice. Here's the problem: When we divorced I maintained physical custody of our two oldest sons and she retained custody of our youngest. We agreed at that time that no child support would be required. Since that time, I payed child support only when one of the boys I had custody of went to stay with my ex in Oklahoma. When he turned 18, my payments ended. There is no mention of support in our divorce decree.

In Oklahoma, unless you are ordered to pay child support in the divorce decree or any subsequent modifications, you are not obligated.
