You can, however unless there was a clear violation of the legal procedure for the adoption and/or the proceeding was fraudulent in some way. The legal process is set up to make certain that the biological parents are voluntarily giving the child up for adoption. Although biological parents are generally "favored" by the court, adoption is viewed as a contract between the biological and adoptive parents that is entered into under the law and court's supervision. If the process was not flawed, the court will tend to honor the adoption; especially if the court believes enough time has passed that it is in the best interests of the child.
