Legal Question in Family Law in Oklahoma
Adoption
If I recently found out about a son(by child support order and paternity test) who just turned three can the mother of that child have him adopted by her husband without my consent? And if the answer is yes then why is she able to do that if I just found out about him?

Re: Adoption
Oklahoma has adopted the Uniform Parentage Act. "A man is presumed to be the father of a child if: For the first two (2) years of the childs life, he resided in the same household with the child and openly held out the child as his own." The answer to your question depends on more facts. If you seek to establish and maintain parental rights, you should consider getting an attorney to file your position in the adoption proceedings.
