amancipation

I would like too know about amancipation and how to get amancipated if possible.

Thank you for your question. A more definitive response could be given if I knew the purpose for which you would want to be emancipated. Also, it might be helpful to know if you are married or have minor children, your age and whether you are separated from your parents or guardian. However generally in Oklahoma a minor can petition the district court in which he/she reside to have the court convey on them the status of an adult for purposes of contracting. Contracting entails all manner of agreements from purchasing to marrying. The parties are required to be notified however it is up to the court to determine if your request will be granted. According to the statute the court will do so "being satisfied that the said petitioner is a person of sound mind and able to transact his affairs..." The minor is expected to pay the court costs for the petition. I hope this adequately answers your question.
