Legal Question in Family Law in Oklahoma

Name change for a minor

My son, who is 8 years old, goes by my husband( his stepfathers) last name. His biological father died over two years ago. My question is can I have his name changed to be hyphenated (for example Smith-Jones)? I dont want him to lose his biological fathers last name, but it makes is easier to go by my last name now. IF this is possible, do you know around how much it costs to have done?

thank you for any help

Re: Name change for a minor

Yes you can. Most name changes are rather simple and inexpensive. The filing and publication fees run around $125. I don't know what other attorneys charge, but my fee for a standard name change is $350. Feel free to call if you would like to schedule an appointment or if you have any other questions.
