Legal Question in Family Law in Oklahoma

Child Custody

In December of 1990 I married a man and after a few years we decided not to be together any longer. We split in June of 1994 but never legally seperated and did not legally divorce until December of 1997. I became pregnant with another man's child in July of 1997 which of course led to the legal divorce. I regretfully married this other man in January of 1998 and our divorce became final in June of 1999. Since I did not wait the mandatory 6 months after a divorce to get remarried the second time, was that marriage legal and does the father of my child have a legal right to have partial custody of my child?

Re: Child Custody

Thank you for your question. Yes you were legally married in January 1998 to the father of your child. He would have legal rights the same as any father to seek custody or visitation with his child. Partial custody is a question the court will have to decide if you are against it.
