Legal Question in Family Law in Oklahoma

Child power of attorney

I have sole custody of my children. I will be moving within the same state later this year. Can I give my mother power of attorney through the summer, so the children will not have to move schools in the middle of the year?

Re: Child power of attorney

You should be able to do as you propose, presuming there are not other facts complicating the situation. For example, if your ex-spouse has visitation rights, you cannot move more than 75 miles without proper notice to the ex-spouse, and the ex-spouse may then object to the move and you'll need to work it out and/or get the court involved.
