Child Support

My boyfriend had gotten behind in his child support. DHS had already started taking payments out of his payroll check. He was served papers later and went to court yesterday and now is in jail and they say he has to pay cash to get out. He appears again before the judge on Tuesday ..what will happen then? Can they keep him since he's already had the money coming out of his check? If he goes to court without the money on Tuesday how long will he stay in jail?? Thank you

Re: Child Support

A contempt citation for failure to pay child support carries up to six months in jail. The cash bond may be the amount he owes in support. You should hire an attorney, if possible.
