Child Support after Children's Adoption

My biological children have been adopted without my consent. I am still being held liable for their child support. What rights do I have?

Re: Child Support after Children's Adoption

Thank you for your question. As a general rule an adoption would not take place without your parental rights being terminated as well. What you describe sounds strange to me, but without more facts it would be difficult to provide you with a definitive opinion. Do you wish to challenge the adoption or simply want to discontinue being held responsible for child support? I note that you indicate that you feel that you are being held "liable" for child support which is different from stating that you have been paying child support. Have you been paying child support? If you are intersted in having an attorney look into this for you, I would be glad to assist you.
