Thank you for your question. In Oklahoma, a person under 18 years of age is protected from what is generally called the statute of limitations. In other words a legal claim which you have against someone else may not run out until one year after you become 18 years old, even though the statute of limitation would have already run against someone who was an adult. If you were planning on a legal action before you are 18 in Oklahoma, the action will have to be brought by a guardian, parent, or guaridan ad litem.
