Legal Question in Family Law in Oklahoma
Child support and responsibility
My ex-girlfriend got pregnant intentionally to get me to marry her. She threatened to sue me for support if I didn't. It is now two years later and I have begun seeing another woman seriously. The ex-girlfriend is now threatening to take me to court for support and threatening to take my rights to the child away also if I continue the relationship with the other woman.
The support I have provided thus far has been based on a personal agreement between her and I. No legal action was ever taken intitially by her. It has been a tool to threaten me with for two years. What are my rights to defend myself from this and can I also get a restraining order to prevent her from calling and coming by and harassing me?

Re: Child support and responsibility
Thank you for your question. You first stated something about a marriage. If you married, your rights would be determined in a divorce court. If you did not marry and if you are the father then she would be able to seek child support. You would have a seek regularly scheduled visitation with the child. You may also seek a protective order regardless of any of the above.
