Legal Question in Family Law in Oklahoma

Child support

My wife left me and took my son. She won't let me see him. She says she doesn't have to until there is a court order. So I told her I don't have to pay child support unless it is court ordered. Is this true?

Re: Child support

Neither of you have greater rights to your child unless and until a court issues an order saying so. Until a child support order is entered in divorce case, you are not obligated to pay child support. You should make sure your child is taken care of, however. I suggest that you file for divorce or legal separation and seek a temporary order giving you custody or visitation, whichever is more appropriate.
