Legal Question in Family Law in Oklahoma

divorce decree

i am in the final stages of a divorce. we have a financial agreement in writing and plan to bring it to the judge at the time that was supposed to be our pre-trial.

my STBX is claiming that once we give the judge the singed financial agreement, the court will issue the decree of divorce. i have the understanding that we must have the decree already prepared and the financial agreement can be written into the divorce decree.

she refuses to let me speak with her lawyer, and i think he is from out of state.

Re: divorce decree

The court may do it for you, but I wouldn't count on it. You can call the clerk and get his/her suggestion. You can also do it yourself in the form of an order, including all the required documents. Present that to the judge and the process may go more smoothly.
