Legal Question in Family Law in Oklahoma
divorce
after being married 28 years, he left, he lives with another while still married to me. What legal rights do I have? Is it worth the money to invest in getting a lawyer or should I just take what he wants to offer? He only wants to pay me $1,000 a month for 10 months and not help me with anything else. I have been told I shouldnt settle. But, I have no money. Should I borrow and try to get more?

Re: divorce
You have many legal rights, and you should not accept any offer without knowing your rights have been protected. You have a right to an equitable distribution of the property accumulated over the 28 years, and potentially a right to support alimony. The offer you describe may be unfair. Based on the little stated in your question I would suggest you at least get an initial evaluation of your case with an attorney before doing anything else.
