Legal Question in Family Law in Oklahoma
Divorce and 6-month waiting period before remarriage
I was a resident of Oklahoma and married there for many years. I am recently divorced and now living in California. Previously I read that there is a 6-month and 1-day waiting period in California which starts from the date of when the petition for disolution is filed.
Then, on my final divorce decree it states that in Oklahoma it is 6-months from that date.
Which of these applies to my situation? Six months from the petition or six months from the final decree?
Thanks,

Re: Divorce and 6-month waiting period before remarriage
California law with control as to when you can be married in California and have a recognized marriage in California. It will not be recognized in Oklahoma until 6 months after the divorce decree was entered.

If your divorce was granted in California, it is goverened by California rules. If it was granted in Oklahoma, then it is governed by Oklahoma rules.
Good luck to you!
