Legal Question in Family Law in Oklahoma

Divorce, repossession

I have been divorced for six years now and in that divorce my ex was granted a truck. She then stopped making payments and it got repo'd. They recently contacted me stating they were going to take the amount owing out of my income taxes. I have my decree stating it was granted to her. Is there anything that i can do, like maybe take her to civil court to get her to pay me? What is my best approach? Thank you

Re: Divorce, repossession

You could file a contempt citation against her in the divorce action, if she has not filed bankruptcy, or you could file a small claims action against her for payment of the debt that you have to pay. The creditor can't garnish your taxes until they are in your bank account.
