Legal Question in Family Law in Oklahoma

Divorce

is there a statue of limitations on a divorce? Can the divorce be petitioned for a change after so many years? What if you realize that the wording was wrong ...can that be changed? Can one of the parties come back and try to get more money?

Re: Divorce

You can make a Motion to Modify a divorce decree based on any number of grounds. If the wording were "wrong," the question would go to the effect of the wrong wording: does the wording not reflect the intention of the parties; is there a detrimental effect on a party due to the wording? And, yes, under certain circumstances a party may petition to Modify so as to get more money.
