I have been with my boyfriend for almost 2 years now and I have a 5 year old son and were thinking of moving in together. His dad has always been difficult and I just want to make sure that there isn't some law on this. Can you take my son away because I'm chosing to live with my boyfriend. He's a great guy and he treats us both well. I didn't want to get married until I knew my son would handle it okay. I'm trying to do what's best for him. Can you help please?

You don't say if there is a divorce decree and custody order, but if there is then it will have something to do with the answer. If not, then you should be fine, unless the father should want to pursue you being unfit; however, without more than your cohabitating, it may be a tough argument for him to make.
