Legal Question in Family Law in Oklahoma
fathers and visitation
I am a single fater employeed full-time and a full time college student pre-law major.
I am recently divorced, and all except maybe $200 a month of my income is gone in support.
I realized what goes on with single fathers and their children, and so decided to go to school to help them and myself. My ex has denied my visitation in september and November and lives in another state. She knows my financial situation and knows I can no longer afford legal help to fight her. She is doing this so I will give up and her new husband can adopt them. I have tried calling fathers rights which is a joke, one I called was a dating line. I have called legal aid and they say that I make too much (wow! $200 is too much????) I am left with no choice but to give in, because without money I cant enforce my visitation, as most judges will not let me represent myself and it is unlikely that I will be able to file a pauper's affidavit. In the morning I will call and give them up to her. I will probably continue to go to school and reach my goal of becoming a lawyer. I am heartbroke and all I can do is continue to cry at night and pray that someday my children when they are bigger will want to see their daddy. every avenue I take is closed to me

Re: fathers and visitation
You should contact an attorney, such as myself, by emailing directly to the email listed in the footer. I then can determine whether you are someone I can represent pro bono or at a drastically reduced rate.
