Legal Question in Family Law in Oklahoma
grandparent
My grandmother has just been diagnosed with cancer but my family didnt know about it til 1 week ago. The so called caregiver would not let the family know and we have tried calling my grandmothers attorney and he will not tell us anything nor will the caregiver tell the family anything about my grandmothers health condition we can not even go in and see my grandmother when we call the hospital we have to have a password to get through to the room and we dont even have that. We just found out today that the caregive has power of attorney over my grandmother also. My grandmother has been in the hospital for 1 month and we can get any answers. We have called the Adult Protection Agency and they are going to try to do what they can. My question is legally by law can the caregiver be told my grandmothers medical information with the medical laws. Even though they have power of attorney. Can someone explain the power of attorney law to me and what as a family that knows nothing can do

You should contact an attorney in the county you live regarding the possibility of obtaining an involuntary guardianship over your grandmother.
