Can my husband shut off our utilities?

My husband got drunk and started throwing things around in our apartment. I called the police and they had him leave. The rent is paid thru this month. All of the utilities are in his name only. In retaliation, he plans on calling all of the utility companies and having them shut off. Is there anything I can do to prevent this? The apartment lease is also in his name. Am I correct in assuming that since the rent is paid that I can stay here until the first of next month? My main concern is the utilities.

You could file a petition for legal separation or petition for divorce and have him served with the injunction notice that goes into effect when a divorce/petition for legal separation is filed and served.
