Legal Question in Family Law in Oklahoma

My husbands EX-wife is refusing us to see our three children. We live less then 2 hours away and we have not seen them in two years. We drive up there and call almost every day but last year she changed her phone number and moved and we have not had any contact with them. Yet we still pay child support and carry insurance on the children. My question is should I hire a lawyer or can I just call the judge and tell him that she is not following her custody agreement?

It is unlikely that the judge will speak with you, since ex parte communications are mostly improper. An attorney will be able to review the existing visitation order and advise you on your possible avenues for enforcement. It is likely that the ex-wife is in contempt of court. A contempt application can be an effective method of enforcing visitation.

Please feel free to call if you would like to discuss this further.
