Legal Question in Family Law in Oklahoma

joint custody modification

My ex was released from the penitentiary in May 2005 after spending 6 years there. We have three kids 15, 13, and 8. Stupid me gave him joint custody when I divorced. My 13 year old is the only boy. I have to keep on him about everything like chores, not bugging his sisters, etc. So this summer when he got completely put of hand I told him as a responsible, loving parent I have to do something to correct this behavior and I thought maybe his dad could help with issue. I told my son maybe he should spend sometime with his dad. Hoping he might deal with some suppressed feeling about his dad. I never meant for this to be a permanent arrangement. He has lived with his dad since August 2005. I have tried to get his to come back home but he refuses and my ex would make him. I have done everything but force him by was of police escort to come home. Now my ex has filed an order of contempt against me for not letting his see the 8 year old and requesting sole custody of Drew. He hasn't paid child support and violated our custody plan several different ways. I know he plans to drag me through the mud. What do you think would be the best way to handle this situation and what are my ex's chances of winning sole custody of our son?

Re: joint custody modification

Hi, If your ex has filed a Contempt Citation you must answer that or the Court will find you guilty of Contempt. If you have a relationship with your ex maybe you can try talking to him but this matter looks like it is going to require a lawyer.
