Legal Question in Family Law in Oklahoma

joint custody/holidays

My husband and I have joint custody with his ex. In her religion she does not celebrate holidays like halloween, christmas and others but won't let us have the kids for these either.. Is there anything we can do like going back to court to get the kids for holidays we celebrate?

You may be able to Petition to Modify the Decree based on your argument. The court may view the religious environment in which the children are being raised as a critical enough element of their lives to rule in your favor. There may be case law supporting these facts as well; you'd likely be best served by having an attorney do a little research and represent you.

There may also be existing support for your position within the current Decree, but again you'd likely be well served by having an attorney review it and the case law on the basis for your claim.
