Medical divorce

What is a "medical divorce"? Is it possible to divorce someone for medical reasons; i.e unresponsive spouse in nursing home?

Medical divorce

In my state (NC), I don't recall such a thing as a "medical divorce". However, almost all of our divorces are granted for a one year's separation, for which no reason is required. However, if I recall correctly (I'm not doing any research on this question, you understand), a Guardian Ad Litem would have to be appointed to protect the property (and perhaps other) rights of the disabled spouse. But that doesn't mean that the divorce won't be granted, it just means that his/her rights will be protected legally.

In certain cases a marriage could be annulled. But the law in my state is very restrictive about such things. Check with a lawyer in your state.
