Legal Question in Family Law in Oklahoma

Mother won't pay half of visitation travel costs

My husband and I recently moved to Alaska so that our parents would help with our children while my husband completes his degree. My husband has a child from another marriage that lives in Oklahoma. We are very close to the child and want to continue our regular visitation. We have a court order that states the child's mother pay half of all visitation. However, she is refusing to pay for half of the cost to Alaska as it is about $300 more than what it was when we lived in the lower states. Is there anything we can do or are we out of luck?

The child's mother is also required to pay for half of the Christmas visits. We only have the child at Christmas every other year. The mother has never paid for her half (even when we were in the lower states) and refuses to ever pay. We have saved all receipts for these visits and would like to take the matter to court. Is there a limited amount of time for us to take this to court and expect her to pay?

IN a word, you are gonna lose this one. It is you who moved to far far away, and if you press it, the Court will not enforce the previous order and may impose sanctions and/or costs on you for even asking.

As a general rule, the one who moves away pays for the visitation.
