Can a married person sign over their power of attorney to their child?

Thank you for your question. If you question is whether you, as a person who is acting under a Power of Attorney over someone else's child, can transfer the Power to another person I cannot say without seeing your power of attorney. A power of attorney is an accepted method of giving someone else general and specific power and authority over decisions affecting children. In criminal cases by law (22 O.S. �20) the court can order a parent who is going to prison to execute a power of attorney over that parent's chilren. However you may run into situations where it will not be readily accepted. You could run into some opposition at schools, doctor offices or hospitals. A legal guardianship is the best method, but of course more expensive as it involves court approval. Good luck
