Legal Question in Family Law in Oklahoma

Property division

My wife and I have decided to file for divorce. We've been married for less than a year. My question is, what types of property can be divided. I'm pretty sure our student loans are exempt. However, we have accumulated a large amount of credit card debt. Do accumulation calculations begin on the date of the marriage, or does it matter? She put several thousand dollars on her cards for the wedding and honeymoon. Also, I bought a vehicle(that she did not sign for), is that divisable?

Re: Property division

Generally, any assets or liabilities acquired during the marriage are divisible by the court. All others are not and remain seperate. That is the general rule. As always, there are exceptions to this rule-depending upon the facts in each case. You will need to discuss your particular situation with your attorney.
