Legal Question in Family Law in Oklahoma

Protective Orders

What would I need to do to get a protective order dropped? I've already contacted the judge and he told me that he was going to leave it active. I've since married the man that I put the protective order against. He is currently in prison until the end of 2002.

Re: Protective Orders

Before you release the protective order you should see a counselor.

Would you want your daughter to release the protective order against a man who is obviously violent (which is why the protective order was issued initially) and who has some serious problems (which is why he is in prison.)

Suggestion. Do not have any children - or any more children - with this man. See a counselor to see why you choose unhealthy men for companions.

To get the protective order released, you need to file a motion to rescind the order with the same court in which the order was issued.
