Legal Question in Family Law in Oklahoma

rights to my child

i recently found out i am the father of my ex-girlfriends child she got married 7 months ago and my child is three months old. Her husband and i both took DNA test and my test returned that i was 99.997% the father. The mother will not let me have nothing to do with the baby right now until i pay her child support but everytime she has called me i have went and bought her things for my son. Do i have any rights to my child right now since i have DNA papers proving I am the father of this child??

Re: rights to my child

You need to file a lawsuit against her establishing your rights as the father. The type of action is titled a Petition for Paternity. In that proceeding you would establish that you are the father, child support, visitation and could allocate the dependency exemption between the mother and father.
