Rights of Unwed Father in Oklahoma

What are the rights of an Unwed father in Oklahoma.

Mother left with child and fled the state. Father sought legal help immediately.

Father signed a Voluntary Acknowledgment of Paternity in a hospital based IV-D proceeding and it was filed and recorded with Dept of Vital Statistics. No contest by anyone after 60 days.

Court has ruled that father under OK Stat. Tit 43 sec 112.3 is not a ''person entitled to custody of visitation'' and that mother was not required to give notice before fleeing with child.

Re: Rights of Unwed Father in Oklahoma

It sounds as if you challenged the relocation but the court ruled against you, which implies the court didn't give weight to the earlier paternity proceeding and supporting docuemnts (presuming they were all presented to the court). The answer is likely in the court's ruling, which you attorney should be able to help you figure out. As for rights of an unwed father, presuming you have legitimately established paternity, you have rights that a court will honor.
