Re: What can he do about son moving
The mother must give at least 60 days notice of her intent to move the child. Your son can ask the court to stop the move, but it will involve a legal issue that may be argued by the mother; as such, you may want to consider an attorney.
Re: What can he do about son moving
Your son can bring an action in the Family Court here in SC to either (a) try to get custody for himself, (b) try to keep the child from being moved outside of SC, or (c) modifying his visitation if the child does move to OK. He should consult with an attorney immediately to discuss his options, as it is much better to file this type of case before she moves rather than afterward.
These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case. If you need more information, you can visit my family law blog (www.SCFamilyLaw.com) or our website (www.StevensFirm.com). I wish you the best of luck.
