Spouse Died am I responsible to pay his debt?

My husband died and he had a credit

card with bill of 5K is his name only.

Am I responsible to pay this debt? We

own a home and there is no money left

in his ''estate''-- that went to pay the

funeral costs.

If you were not an co-obligor on the credit card, then you are not liable to pay the debt. I would send a copy of the death certificate to the creditor with a note not to contact you anymore.
