Legal Question in Family Law in Oklahoma

terminate parental rights

I was never married to my ex but the state put him on the birth certificate for child support. he does drugs, doesnt have a job and lives at home with his mom, at 31 yrs of age. I have had dhs investigate his home and was told that i didnt have to let my daughter go there until it was clenaed up. they cleaned it up inside but my ex is starting to flip out on his mom, i suppose from the drugs he is on. i wont let me duaghter go there anymore and told him he would have to meet me somewhere to see her. he doesnt like that idea and hasnt called or anything since i told him that. is there a way that i can get his rights terminated? no child should have to be around such a loser. his mother pays the $146 child support but i get no other help from him if i dont let her go with him and that money isnt worth it to me.

Re: terminate parental rights

I have found it is very tough to have a father's rights terminated, except for cases like adoption or with the father's consent. I would suggest that you contact a local attorney because this is a rather complex matter. Good Luck
