Legal Question in Family Law in Oklahoma
time limitation on debts
I have been divorced for 4 years. I have recently received a call requesting payment on a debt my ex-wife obtained in our divorce. How can I keep this from going against my credit and do I have to pay it since my name was a part of it at the time of purchase?

Re: time limitation on debts
Your only recourse is against your ex if you have to pay the debt. I suggest that you call or write her letting her know she is not paying the debt. If she has filed bankruptcy you are out of luck. You are ultimately obligated to pay the debt if the ex does not pay.
