Maternity leave for Unmarried Parents

A couple is expecting a child. They both work at the same Company on the same shift. Can the father take FMLA for the birth of the child at the same time as the mother? They have lived together for 5 years, but not legally married.

I believe the answer is yes, subject to all the other FMLA requirements. You can get good information directly from the US Dept of Labor; they have a page with many FMLA facts.
