Re: Black Farmer Settlement
This is the first that I have heard of the "Black Farmer" settlement. However, I can tell you that there are many lawyers who will help on what is called a "contingent fee." That means that the lawyer will get a percentage of whatever your mother receives. This is good for the client (your mother) because she is not out any money unless money is collected on her behalf. I would be glad to look into the matter for your family under a contingent fee situation. Like I said there are many who would probably help out this way.
As far as your mother needing to get a lawyer. There are probably certain requirements and certain deadlines that must be complied with. The settlement people more than likely don't have time to explain to each and every individual, and that is why they recommend getting a lawyer.
Please feel free to contact me at (918) 227-4009 or [email protected] if you have any questions. The first call to most lawyers is free, and I would recommend that you get to someone as soon as you can.
Thank you,
Scott Tully
