There is no statutory requirement for this notification and it is advisable that you visit or contact the DA's office, if you know that a check was forwarded to them and it is recommended that you make a good-faith effort to reconcile the amount and fees to avoid further action or prosecution. Particularly, if the check amount is over $50.00
