Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Oklahoma
civil relief in excess of $10,000 has been awarded by default to plaintiff, can my drivers license be suspended for this? This was a lawsuit fabricated over a year ago and I was out of town, unable to defend it. I know I'm legally bound by the judgment but I drive for a living and am concerned by threats from plaintiffs attorney my license will be suspended until payment in full. I live in Oklahoma and should this be true, not only will the lawsuit have income for payment nor will I have income to make a living. Please help!! Barry

It would be difficult to answer this question without more information about how and why the judgment was issued. There are some instances such as child support and taxes that can lead to a suspension. If this applies you can be threatened with suspension. I hope this helps.
