Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Oklahoma

A friend of mine recently passed and although he had spoken of leaving everything to me and his favorite charitable organization jointly for years, his family informed me that he had changed his will where everything was to go to his siblings. Then a few weeks later they contact me to say that the new will wasn't written exactly right and didn't specifically mention his 401k or life insurance but were sure that he MEANT it to be included and offered me (and the charitable organization) a large sum of money to sign a waiver so that everything can move forward. I am so confused as to what to do! I dont know if my friend meant for me to have it and thats why he didnt change it and if so how can I find out if I have a legal leg to stand on and find out what the total amount is they're asking me to sign a waiver on? I don't want to be greedy but don't want to be played a fool either. An offer that large, out of the blue when I was totally unaware there even was a problem has me perplexed. Please advise what I should/can do.

Thank you,

TP

It is recommended that you get an attorney to review the will before making a decision. And, recommend that you also review the contents before applying your signature to any document (s).

The above is recommended because, typically, something is not right under these circumstances or something is not disclosed or they are not looking into your best interest if; (1) there is confusion about the contents of the will,; (2) a money settlement is being offered to waive your rights; (3) nothing can go forward WITHOUT your sigtnature, and (4) they hired an attorney or other official to induce you into signing over your rights. I hope this helps.
