Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Oklahoma

I am a licensed concrete contractor in garfield co. ok. a builder built the house and did all the prep work for a driveway. i was hired for $900.00 to just lay the concrete. the house set for over 2 years and now the driveway has raised up a inch on one end. the house builder has died and the home owner sued me in small claims for $5000.00 thru a attorney. there are no codes for steel or mesh being installed. all i did was poor concrete and trowell it smooth. am i liable or do i need to hire a attorney or what.

This is a contract action. Unless you signed a contract with the homeowner, the homeowner does not have privity of contract with you and therefore you are not liable. The homeowner's contract is with the builder. I would get a contract lawyer to defend you and your company.

If you have a comprehensive liability policy on your buisness, contact your insurance company to defend you. This is urgent.
