negligence

I had some checks stolen from my car on an account that was closed about a year ago. Many stores have accepted them with either no ID or bogus ID. Can I sue the stores for being negligent?

If so, what is it called and how do I get the forms?

Thanks for your question. You state that the stolen checks were on a closed account. I presume then that none of your funds have been affected by the fact that the checks were stolen. In order to recover in a negligence claim you normally must show that you have suffered damages. Perhaps you have been damaged in some way that is not revealed in your question. You may wish to repost your question with more detail about how you have been damaged.
